Our client is currently seeking a dynamic junior Estimator/Scheduler to join their team in the Eastern suburbs. This role is crucial for enhancing and streamlining daily operations within the commercial concrete and steel industry. Under the leadership of the Director, the company serves a diverse range of customers and clients across Greater Melbourne and its surrounding areas.
 
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Prepare estimates meticulously, including detailed bar schedules specifying diameters, grades, and shapes for production.
  • Ensure precision in taking off reinforcing steel and generating cutting lists (work schedules) for manufacturing and delivery.
  • Foster effective communication among customers, production teams, site personnel, and sales representatives.
  • Create comprehensive estimates for quoting purposes, accompanied by detailed bar schedules outlining diameters, grades, and shapes for production.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers, production teams, site personnel, and sales representatives to uphold operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Selection Criteria
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Estimator/Scheduler in the construction industry.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and an engineering-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work autonomously.
  • Possession of practical and structural knowledge of construction industry products and services.
  • In-depth understanding of construction sequencing and structural properties and designs.
  • Familiarity with various types of structural drawings for construction, including domestic, residential, multi-storey, and commercial projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in mathematics, including trigonometry and geometric equations.
