About the Role:

Our client, a leading not for profit peak body, is seeking an experienced Strategic Communications and Marketing extraordinaire to lead and execute the overall communications and marketing strategy of the organisation. As chief storyteller and collaborator, the position will develop strategies and tactics specifically targeted to key stakeholders, members and partners across all media platforms. This is a full time temporary position with an immediate start, with a view to permanency for the right person.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead, design, develop and implement brand, marketing, media and communication strategies
  • Oversee and manage daily communications and marketing functions that drive strategic priorities and ongoing operations
  • Partner with leaders to prepare communications for varying stakeholder audiences
  • Plan, track, analyze and report on effectiveness of communications and marketing approaches
  • Lead the design and delivery of marketing collateral and communications to support organisational events, learning programs and activities for members and partners
  • Build relationships across the public sector and media to increase brand awareness and engagement with stakeholders
  • Maintain data integrity by monitoring and updating the CRM
  • Lead and collaborate on review processes for marketing and communications
Ideally you'll have:
  • The ability to create, direct and lead strategic marketing activities across branding, campaigns, events, products, print and social media
  • Experience in gathering resources, building narrative and creating content to effect and support the implementation and ongoing development of a strategic plan
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding to embed a strategic plan and improve team effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Experience in managing contracts and project delivery is desirable
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office, Dynamics 365, Adobe Creative, Google Ads and Website Maintenance (Squarespace)
  • Highly developed interpersonal and and stakeholder management skills with a flexible and adaptable approach to work with a diverse range of people
  • Experience in the public purpose sector including lived experience of the workings of local, state and/or federal governments in Victoria, and a demonstrated passion of the sector is essential
