Our client is a global brand that leads the world in their specialist markets. Their business is strong and they continue to grow organically and through acquisition. This position has the key objective to manage the current payroll, lead the relationship with outsourced providers and streamline systems and processes. This position is based in the South East suburbs of Melbourne for an experienced senior payroll officer seeking a fresh challenge and lead a team of 2.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the payroll processing of multiple business entitites
  • Ability to interpret and pay employees across various awards and agreements
  • Responsible for supporting HR activities for all business units
  • Responsible for supporting the payroll outsourcing relationship
  • Process end to end payroll for all employees in both payroll and T&A systems
  • Calculation and timely processing of termination payments
  • Processing and reporting for month-end processing, superannuation and payroll tax
  • Initiate payroll payments and lodgement of STP files
  • Responsible for the maintenance, processing and creation of the GL files
  • Preparation and interpretation of all relevant weekly payroll, month-end reporting
  • Assist with reporting to Workers Comp Insurers and State Revenue Office
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining current administration processes to assure efficiency

Your experience will include:

  • Comprehensive understanding of multiple awards and agreements
  • Acknowledge of general payroll practices, procedures, operations and legislation
  • Be deadline focused, ideally having systems upgrade experience
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to investigate issues and find solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive & proactive team player with a strong service delivery ethic
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a broader team

You will be a confident communicator dealing with queries, adjusments and trouble-shooting of issues as they arise.
