Our client is an industry leader in their field providing sustainable, efficient and renewable solutions to their clients. This position has a particular emphasis on building relationships with government and infrastructure projects across the state and around the country. You need to be able to start ASAP for handover and commit to a minimum 6 month duration.

Job Purpose:
The Marketing & Government Relations Specialist is responsible for the execution of marketing, media and government relations activities as developed by the company's external partners and its subsidiary companies. In addition to the external government and media relation activities, the Marketing & Government Relations Specialist will undertake content creation and maintenance activities to support the advancement of the company's communications and government relations strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the directors and external media and government relations partner to manage, deliver and continuously develop the positioning to customers, statutory authorities and government
  • Provide inputs, reports, customer segment information and supporting analysis to company directors and external media and government relations partner to enhance the external Communications and Government Relations Strategy
  • Support the company's initiatives with the planning, executing, and tracking of marketing and government engagement programs such as email, event, social media, website, promotional videos or newsletters including product launches into the Road and Landfill segments
  • Review and create company and segment capability statements to assist in the execution of the external Communications and Government Relations Strategy
  • Coordinate the design of marketing material and promotional literature for initiatives
  • Develop, manage and implement digital campaigns including SEO and Google Ads to support company growth initiatives
  • Manage and update the content for the company website to support the company's communications and government relations strategy
  • Assist with the management of relationships with key industry partners, government, statutory authorities and other parties and implement promotional initiatives through their networks to maximize awareness of the brand
  • Research insight tools, methods and data to improve decision making related to the overall marketing strategy
  • Work as an effective team member; sharing responsibilities, working collaboratively, generating ideas and demonstrating leadership within the team

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or communications
  • Past work experience in external marketing, media and government relations or similar role
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
  • Copy writing and content management experience
  • Experience with Adobe CC - InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator
  • High-level problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively execute solutions
  • Self-driven and organised
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative
  • Flexible, can do approach and willingness to have a go and provide support to team members when required
