We are seeking service focussed candidates for a highly respected organisation located in the Richmond area who specialise in freight management and put your multitasking skills to the test. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for providing high quality customer service and sales support to clients and internal sales staff through providing information, advice, quotations, bookings, reporting, sales activity and other assistance on a wide range of freight management issues and needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Respond to client enquiries and liaise with suppliers regarding quotations & price confirmations.
  • Bookings, freight tracking, monitoring and service related and other relevant issues as required.
  • Ensure all pickups and client queries are logged with detailed notes.
  • Track and monitor freight, corresponding with suppliers and advising clients with relevant updates.
  • Provide a high level of quality customer service.
  • Establish, develop and maintain where necessary client and supplier soft and hard copy files.
  • To provide administrative support services as required.
  • To ensure that all work undertaken by the position is carried out in a healthy and safe manner and that any unsafe aspects of the workplace are immediately rectified and/or reported to your supervisor when appropriate.
  • Support continuous improvement through business excellence and embrace company values.

Skills and core requirements:

  • Extensive experience in customer service and administration.
  • Experience within the transport/logistics industry or in a role where you have been communicating with transport companies.
  • Experience in sourcing information from various computer systems.
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic.
  • Well-developed communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • A demonstrated intermediate level of skills using the Microsoft Office suite of computer programs.
