Our client, a leading Industry Super Fund is on the lookout for a new Insurance Claim Officer to join them on a 12-month contract. Here, you will manage the day-to-day claims activities including the review and preparation of files relating to Death, Total and Permanent Disablement, Terminal Illness, Permanent Incapacity, and Income Protection claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with external partners to ensure smooth claims processing.
- Review and prepare claims for approval under Board delegation.
- Keep track of claim statuses and address any delays promptly.
- Ensure timely payments for Income Protection claimants.
- Stay updated on procedures and regulations to streamline processes.
- Build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally, while ensuring compliance with legal standards

- Proficiency in assessing various life claims using group life insurance principles.
- Strong communication skills, especially during sensitive discussions with members and beneficiaries.
- Knowledge of Trustee responsibilities and complaints processes (preferred).
- Empathy, attention to detail, and exceptional written and verbal communication.
- A background in insurance and/or superannuation (qualification desirable).
- Familiarity with superannuation legislation and tax laws (desirable).
