We are seeking a qualified Health Information Manager (HIM) or an experienced Clinical Coder to join our client's team in a Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) role.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine your coding and audit expertise with clinician engagement, helping to improve documentation quality, support accurate Casemix and funding outcomes, and deliver targeted education.

About the Role
  • Part-time, 24 hours per week (3 x 8.5-hour days, excluding lunch break).
  • Typical hours: start between 7:00 am8:00 am, finish between 3:30 pm4:30 pm.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent).
  • Eligibility for HIMAA membership.
Experience:
  • Grade 3: 7+ years’ experience as a senior coder, coding auditor/educator, or previous CDI experience.
  • Grade 2: 5+ years’ coding experience.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS.
  • Strong background in tertiary hospital coding, casemix/DRG.
  • EMR (Cerner) and iPM experience.
  • Skilled at identifying documentation gaps, generating queries, and providing clinician education.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with strong analytical/problem-solving ability.
Ideal Candidate:
A senior coder or HIM ready to step into a clinician-facing role, with experience in coding audits, education, or CDI. A tertiary hospital background is preferred; prior CDI exposure is highly regarded.
