National Operations Manager

An exciting opportunity is on offer to join this highly respected global manufacturer and put your proven operational management abilities to the test. Due to consistent growth our client is seeking to appoint an experienced National Operations Manager with a background in Lean Manufacturing to join their Team. Reporting the General Manager, you will be responsible for identifying cost and efficiency improvements and savings through leading, developing, implementing and centralising processes, policies and driving performance objectives aligned to the business plan.

Key responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate activities of all operations nationwide
  • Manage national capacity at the Operational facilities and supply chain
  • Drive a continuous performance culture within the operations teams
  • Drive Standardisation and Benchmarking
  • Along with the General Manager set cost saving target
  • Participate in the business planning and establish operational plans, forecasts, budgets and performance measures
  • Review departmental performance reports and direct the resolution of problems to ensure minimum costs and maximum performance
  • Monitor external businesses and agencies to ensure that they meet contractual obligations and stay within budgetary limits
  • Recommend new facilities/plant and equipment as required
  • Review sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and improvement
  • Manage quality control standards, budget and cost controls for operations
  • Ensure all established costs, quality, performance and delivery commitments are met
  • Compile and store operational data for reporting and analysis
  • Schedule via team to coordinate the activities of employees to meet work priorities
  • Track, analyse and improve key operational performance indicators

What you bring:

  • A degree in Engineering ideally sought
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing processes and in functional roles
  • Proven leadership experience and an ability to lead change across an organisation
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of Process Engineering, maintenance and HSE Management
  • Previous experience in the implementation of Lean manufacturing, transformation, turnaround and continuous improvement
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A commitment to quality, environmental and health and safety standards
  • High level of negotiation skills and conflict resolution experience
